What “AI-ready” means for a service business
An AI-ready website is not a special kind of website. It is a good local service site with the basics done completely. A customer can see what you do, where, for how much and how to book. A search engine can crawl and index the pages. An AI assistant can read the same facts as plain text and, if it chooses, cite the page.
Magnet Mint is a Boston studio. We build these sites as part of our AI search optimization work, and we start with your website. Then we improve your business one step at a time, and you choose every step.
What we build into the site
- One page per service. Each service gets its own page with the same set of facts: what is included, who it is for, where you work, a price or “from” price, how long it takes, what the customer provides and how to start.
- Answers in plain text. Prices, hours, areas and FAQs sit in the page itself, not in an image, a PDF or a chat window.
- Schema. Structured data for the business (Organization and LocalBusiness or ProfessionalService) and each Service. Google advises that structured data match the visible text, so we write it from the page, not around it. Each service page also gets a visible FAQ; Google no longer shows FAQ rich results, so FAQ markup is optional.
- Open crawlers. A sitemap and a robots.txt that does not block search crawlers. OpenAI says sites opted out of OAI-SearchBot will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers, and Perplexity recommends allowing PerplexityBot. GPTBot, used for training, is a separate decision, and we explain it.
- Matching profiles. Your name, address and phone are compared across the site, Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and Yelp, and mismatches are fixed.
- Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow. The site is verified, and changes are submitted through IndexNow, which notifies participating search engines when pages change.
- Mobile and accessibility. Phone-first design, tap-to-call numbers, and WCAG 2.1 AA.
- A visible update date. Service pages show when they were last updated, and prices are reviewed on a schedule.
llms.txt is optional. Google says Google Search ignores it, and we know of no measured effect in other AI assistants, so it comes last. See llms.txt.
Before and after
Before launch we ask the main AI assistants your customers’ questions and record what they say about you and your competitors. After launch we ask again. That is the measurable part of the work. Answers vary, so we report what we saw on which dates, not a score.
Nobody controls what ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Perplexity recommend. We promise structure, facts and a measured before and after, not placement.
New site, redesign or just an audit?
- No site, or a site you want to replace: a new site built this way. A landing page is from $1,200. A 5-8 page service site is from $3,500. See web design in Boston.
- A site that works but is missing facts: a refresh is from $2,500, a full redesign from $4,500. See website redesign.
- Not sure what is wrong: start with the GEO/AEO audit, from $750. It lists what to fix before you spend more.
What it costs and what is not included
An extra page is $250-$450 per page. Timelines: 2-3 weeks for a landing page, 4-6 weeks for a 5-8 page site. Prices are as of October 2026. For market ranges and what drives the price, read how much a website costs.
Not included: domain and hosting, new photography, third-party software subscriptions (billed at cost), SMS carrier registration (A2P 10DLC) and message fees, and AI usage above the plan allowance. Scope, price and timeline are agreed in writing before work starts, and the first 30 days after launch include help and fixes within the agreed scope.
Who this is for, and who it is not for
This is for owners of local service businesses who need a site that explains what they do and works on a phone, and who want it ready for the way customers now search.
If you only need a simple page that you will edit yourself, a website builder can be enough. Our comparison of Wix, Squarespace and WordPress explains when. If you need an online store or a custom web application, tell us on the first call. That is a different project.
