A website that brings in calls, not just a page that exists

Service businesses usually come to a web designer with one of three problems. There is no real website, only a social page. The site is five years old and looks wrong on a phone. Or the site looks fine, but nobody can tell from it what you do, where you work or how to book.

Magnet Mint builds websites for local service businesses in Boston and Cambridge, and for owners across the US who work with us remotely. The goal is simple: when a customer, Google or an AI assistant reads your site, they find the facts they need and an easy way to contact you.

We start with your website. Then we improve your business one step at a time, and you choose every step.

What we do, step by step

Every project follows the same order. You see and approve each stage.

  1. Positioning brief. What you do, for whom, in which area, and why a customer should pick you. We write it down in plain words.
  2. Competitor review. We look at the businesses customers compare you with: their sites, their offers, their Google profiles. You see what they say and what they leave out.
  3. Copy. We write all the page text from your answers and our research. You approve it.
  4. Design and mobile build. A clean design built phone-first, tested on real screen sizes, to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
  5. Service pages with real facts. Each service gets its own page: what is included, who it is for, where you work, typical price or “from” price, how long it takes, and what the customer needs to do.
  6. Schema and AI-assistant readiness. We add structured data (schema) so search engines and AI assistants can read your name, services, service area, hours and questions as facts, not guesses.
  7. Forms or booking link connected. The contact form reaches a real inbox, or the booking link goes to the tool you already use. We test it before launch.
  8. Profiles checked. We compare your name, address and phone number across your site, Google Business Profile and the main directories, and flag mismatches.
  9. 30 days of fixes after launch. Anything within the agreed scope that needs fixing or adjusting in the first 30 days is on us.

Three packages

Landing page. One focused page for one service or offer: a single message, proof, and a clear call or form. Good when you need something live quickly or want to test an offer. Price: from $1,200. Details: landing page design.

5-8 page service site. A home page, your main service pages, an about page and a contact page, each written to answer the questions customers ask before they call. Price: from $3,500. Details: small business website design.

Refresh or redesign. If you already have a site, we start by reading it. A refresh fixes copy, mobile layout and the facts that are missing. A full redesign rebuilds structure, copy and design. A refresh starts from $2,500 and a redesign starts from $4,500. Details: website redesign.

If you want to edit the site yourself, we also build on WordPress. See WordPress web design. If you want the site to be easier for AI assistants to cite, read about AI search optimization. We cannot control what ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Perplexity recommend, and nobody can. What we do is make your facts clear and measure the before and after.

What makes this different, in checkable facts

  • Scope, price, timeline and approval stages are agreed in writing before work starts. You know what you are buying.
  • We write the copy. You are not asked to fill in a template yourself.
  • One named person leads your project. You are not passed between departments.
  • Every service page states real facts: what is included, the area, the price or “from” price, and how to start.
  • The first 30 days after launch include help and fixes within the agreed scope.
  • Each add-on is optional. A website does not lock you into an AI assistant, booking or a monthly plan.
  • We work with the tools you already use, such as Square Appointments, Acuity Scheduling, Calendly, Vagaro or Jobber for booking, or we help you choose one.

What it costs and what is not included

A landing page costs from $1,200 and a 5-8 page site from $3,500. An extra page is $250-$450 per page. Prices are as of October 2026. For market ranges and what drives the price, read how much a website costs and our guide to how much to charge for a website.

Not included in any price: domain and hosting, new photography, third-party software subscriptions (billed at cost), SMS carrier registration (A2P 10DLC) and message fees, and AI usage above the plan allowance.

Web design pages for your type of business

Some trades need different things from a website. A dental practice needs insurance and new-patient information. A roofer needs service areas and photos. We have pages for:

Who this is for, and who it is not for

This is for owners of local service businesses who want a website that explains what they do, works on a phone and gives customers an easy way to call or book. It fits businesses in Boston, Cambridge and Greater Boston, and businesses elsewhere in the US that are happy to work by call and screen share.

If you need a large online store or a custom web application, tell us on the first call. That is a different kind of project. A package may also be more than you need if you only want a simple page for a side project. A website builder such as Wix or Squarespace can be enough then. Our comparison of Wix, Squarespace and WordPress explains when.

How to start

Ask for a free demo: a short call, then a demo that shows how customers and AI assistants see your business today, one positioning idea and 3-4 competitors side by side. It is free, with no obligation. Or call 617-991-9912. Our AI assistant answers and passes your request to the team, which is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm ET. We will tell you honestly whether a landing page, a full site or a refresh makes sense before you commit to anything.

Questions owners ask

How much does web design cost in Boston?

A one-page landing page is from $1,200, a 5-8 page service site is from $3,500, and a refresh starts from $2,500. A full redesign starts from $4,500. See website pricing for what is included and what is not.

Why is mobile friendly website design important?

Many of your customers will first open your site on a phone, often while they are comparing two or three businesses. If the text is tiny, the buttons are hard to tap or the phone number is not a tap-to-call link, they leave and call someone else. We design and test the mobile version first.

Is my website mobile friendly?

Open it on your phone and check four things: you can read it without zooming, the menu works with a thumb, the phone number is tap-to-call, and the form can be filled in without errors. If any of these fail, a website redesign or refresh fixes it.

Do you build custom websites or use templates?

We design around your services, your questions and your service area, and write the copy ourselves. We can also build on WordPress. See WordPress websites if you want to edit the site yourself.

How long does a website take?

A landing page takes 2-3 weeks, a 5-8 page site 4-6 weeks, and a redesign 5-8 weeks. The timeline is written into the agreement before work starts and depends on how quickly you approve copy and design.

Do I get a say in the design and copy?

Yes. We write the copy and gather the materials, and you approve each stage. Nothing goes live without your approval.

Do you work with businesses outside Boston?

Magnet Mint is based in Boston and works with clients in Boston, Cambridge, Greater Boston and across the US by phone, video and screen share. Calls and screen sharing work well for most projects.

What happens after the site launches?

The first 30 days include help and fixes within the agreed scope. After that you can edit the site yourself, ask us for changes, or choose a monthly care plan. Each add-on is optional.
